Tripadvisor and Koddi Launch a Recovery Initiative for Hotels

At this point, it’s no longer news that Covid-19 has turned the travel landscape upside down. Hotels around the world are acclimating to this new normal and fighting to regain lost revenue. At Koddi, we’re right here in the middle of it. As we’ve worked relentlessly to support our clients from global hotel chains to major publisher platforms, we’ve discovered that individual hotel owners and operators have struggled the most to regain lost ground during the pandemic.

Even though travel may not normalize in the near future, it’s possible for hotels to overcome the demand curve in their markets, if they are willing to spend some marketing dollars. We understand many properties simply don’t have the same extent of budget committed to advertising, so making the most of what’s available is more important than ever.

To help support hotels, Koddi and Tripadvisor have partnered to launch a recovery initiative that will provide a 20% rebate on all Tripadvisor Sponsored Placements spend through Koddi’s platforms from October 1 through December 31, 2020.

What are Tripadvisor Sponsored Placements?

Tripadvisor is the world’s largest travel platform with 463 million visitors each month, and its Sponsored Placements auction is a powerful tool for driving high-quality traffic and incremental bookings. Tripadvisor Sponsored Placements allows advertisers to bid for premium placement on market-level searches and takes travelers straight to the book direct site to complete their reservation.

 

How does the rebate work?

All hotels that spend $200 or more on Tripadvisor Sponsored Placements are eligible to receive a 20% rebate on their property spend, up to $1,000 in rebate credit.

Who is eligible?

All hotels that are supported by Koddi’s Private Markets platforms and meet the $200 spend threshold.

When are rebates applied?

Rebates will be applied every month — approximately seven to ten days after month-end and will be deposited directly into the participating hotel’s Koddi account.
