Google Testing Price Slices on Room Booking Module

Google has introduced a new way for travelers using the room booking module to sort and view hotel stay prices available through each partner. The update adds a drop-down menu featuring three different methods of splitting the stay’s price. Options include Nightly price (the cost per night minus fees and taxes), Nightly total (Nightly price + fees and taxes) and Stay total (Nightly total x number of nights).

What does this mean?

The change provides travelers with additional context when making their booking decisions and shines a light on how influential a partner’s fees may be on the total price. Prior to this update, the pricing displayed on a listing did not always reflect the final cost travelers would incur at check-out. This update offers a level of pricing transparency that may affect customers’ conversion behavior.
